INFINITY STONES

In Guardians Of Galaxy, it was explained that the six stones are actually six singularities whose existence preceded the Big Band and were pressed into stones after the universe began. The Infinity Stones are six artifacts with a variety of powerful abilities that endow their bearers. Also known as Infinity Gauntlet when brought together in a glove. stones give their user the power to reshape all of reality itself. There are six infinity stones and six letters in Thanos name. The alternate names to each stone so far-Tesseract, Aether, Orb, Necklace and Scepter. We will have to see what the last stone is named (maybe Heimdall) . Lets now discuss each infinity stone one by one.

THE TIME STONE/NECKLACE

Time stone is pretty much used to manipulate time as by its name being the time stone. 
This stone is actually in the Doctor Strange movie and in the movie he actually shows us that this stone has a very great amount of power. It can take objects out of the past and move them to the present. It can also take items from the present move them into the future and then again back to the present. So this stone is a very big piece to the puzzle and has a lot of power. At the end of the Doctor Strange movie, he actually left it in a giant room that really wasn't guarded at all and it had already been broken into a couple of times, so we don't really know exactly where the stone is. It could have been stolen again but we do know that it was left in that room. So basically time stone grants the user time travel and total control over present, past and future.

THE SPACE STONE/THE TESSERACT

The tesseract was in the first Captain America movie(used by Red Skull) and it was also in The Avengers (used by Loki) used to open a space portal which could allow a space travel. At the end of The Avengers:Age of Ultron movie, it was taken back to Asgard to put in the little Odin trophy room by Thor himself. This stone is capable of teleporting anything from one point in the universe to the other. It can also increase the speed of object and alter the distance between objects contrary to the laws of physics. At full potential, the Space stone grants the user Omnipresence i.e. the property of being present everywhere.

THE REALITY STONE/AETHER

It's actually in the form of a liquid instead of a stone and it was seen in the Thor the dark world movie. It attaches to a host and makes it stronger. It allows the user to fulfill their wishes even if the wish is in direct contradiction with scientific laws and do things that would normally be impossible. It can create any type of alternate reality (like parallel universe) the user wishes. By the end of the movie Thor the dark world, it was given to The Collector for safekeeping although his whole house was wrecked during Guardians of the Galaxy, so who knows if it moved at that point.

THE POWER STONE/ORB

This is the stone that actually wrecked The Collector's home in Guardians of Galaxy. It allows the user to access and manipulate all forms of energy. It enhances their physical strength and durability and boosts the effects of other stones. At full potential, it grants the user omnipotence (having unlimited power). By the end of the Guardians of Galaxy, the power stone was being housed by intergalactic police known as Nova Corps.

THE MIND STONE/SCEPTER

It was wielded by Loki inside Scepter who received it as a gift from Thanos for the Chitauri Invasion. After the Battle of New York, the scepter was confiscated by S.H.I.E.L.D and stolen by HYDRA. After the fall of Hydra, the scepter was recovered by the avengers and taken by ultron and its blue gem casing was shattered, releasing the mind stone inside it and used to give life to Vision. This stone can currently be found on Vision's forehead. It is yellow in color. It allows the user to enhance their mental abilities and access the thoughts and dreams of other beings. When backed by the Power stone, the Mind stone can access all minds in existence simultaneously. At full potential, the mind gem grants the user omniscience (capacity to know everything that there is to know).

THE SOUL STONE

This stone is not yet seen in films. Many of us were pretty sure that soul stone will be shown in Thor:Ragnarok. Some believe that it is found in eyes of Heimdall. He is the number one contender for having soul stone. But after the release of Infinity war trailer, many fans have started to believe that soul stone must be in Wakanda. But few believe its in the Tony Stark's "Arc Reactor" but it just maybe a fan theory. The concept of Souls really hasn't been explored in the Marvel Cinematic Universe though its power and capabilities are quite known from Marvel Comics.  It allows the user to steal, control, manipulate and alter living and dead souls. At full potential, the Soul gem grants the user control over all the life in universe.
